More than half of the Australian population have already passed their first year of college, and more than half have already achieved a post-graduate degree.

But how do you know if you’re ready to make the jump to university?

ABC’s Victoria Law student Rachel O’Brien has been studying for her first Australian post-graduation degree in the past two years, and she’s not alone.

“I’ve been told by my professors, ‘it’s your life after graduation’,” she says.

“So what I’ve been telling them is that it’s not a time to rush into the process, that it is important to take a bit of time and make sure you’re really ready.”

Rachel’s father is also pursuing his post-secondary education.

“We have had a bit more time to get over the initial shock and panic,” he says.

“We’ve been talking to my mum about what we need to do to prepare us for what’s ahead.”

So what are you waiting for?

You’ll want to learn more about the university system and prepare yourself for the challenges ahead.
